The First Wedding

Years ago, a lifetime before I moved to South Whidbey I photographed my first wedding at Stanford University. I was still in high school and my mom and I took the train to meet our dear friend and help her get married. Stanford University is a beautiful campus and a must see if you are in the area. The whole event was wild for me. The wedding coordinator sang every direction she had for us. If she wanted you to stand over on the stairs, she literally opera sang it to you, "You over there, you need to go stand on those stairs, please!". I dont recall a professional photographer being there so all her wedding photos were by me and there was no formals at all. As a matter of fact, there were maybe 16 shots taken... My mom and I found these giant wood carvings of men with huge dongs so a lot of pictures were taken there, not of the wedding party. My mother also discovered a dead squirrel lying right in the middle of the sidewalk, declared it a bad omen, whisked it away and then let our bride continue walking. The marriage only lasted a few little years. The pictures of my mom and the hand carved dongs are still around and so are just a few blurry pictures of our best friend changing her life foreve
