Random Acts OF Kindness Elopement Photography Whidbey Island Beach Wedding

The challenge of finding a connection to Random Acts of Kindness and Elopement Photography did not last long. The best part was getting to go through so many great images. While I couldn’t search for “Kind Bride” I focused instead on kind elopement officiant Betsy Harvey of We Do I Dos. One day in the preschool parking lot she approached me about photographing an elopement and we have been close ever since.

This image was chosen because technically, the first wedding we did together the bride did not want her photos posted. So this was the next one. What we have here is a couple getting married, they are military and they have a child. I learned so much from this short elopement and I still use the lesson continually; Pack snacks and always have a kid friendly game on your phone. Their poor baby fell asleep on the long drive to the beach where his parents were eloping. He woke up crying and there was nothing in our power to stop him. He screamed the entire ceremony and the witnesses had to take him away so we could even hear what Betsy was saying. When we got back to him I grabbed some leftover goldfish my kids had abandoned in my car and I tuned on my sons favorite car racing game on my phone. All was quiet, all was calm, all the signatures were captured and the couple was legal.

Because the baby was so happy we even got to spend a few tender minutes, just the 3 of us, taking romantic sunset wedding pictures on the beach at low tide.

Afterwards the new family headed to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate and I may have taken some Tylenol while I headed off to edit the fantastic pictures.
