Get Married In Tacoma
As November looms ahead, I am reminded that engagement season is fast approaching. It is by far my favorite season and one that doesn’t get enough attention. Now that I write that, I realize it does get its fair share, apparently, I just can’t get enough.
This past summer I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a wedding in Tacoma. Normally, I stay close to Whidbey, but I could not resist this opportunity. The wedding was still small, it was very much on the elopement side and that was why I went for it. Now, I have never shot a wedding much less an elopement in Tacoma, but I was immediately smitten.
The bride and groom had only their closest relatives with them and altogether we were less than 12 and that included two kids. Our bride had a work friend design her wedding bouquet and when I saw the gold flecked roses I was over the moon. This is why I am obsessed with photographing weddings and elopements. The magic I get to see from strangers who pull their resources and creativity together to create a special day for someone is beyond extraordinary. The fact I get to document it and capture the beauty for all to remember is the most unique thing I do.
