Whidbey Island Fire Wedding
Lately my favorite thing to do is go in to my collection of wedding images and search for a random word like bouquet, or cake, or fire. Fire was a random one I know but once the word was in my head there was no getting it out. So I opened the bank of images and searched. There wasnt much content and there was a lot of pictures of blurry lights, not quite flames but close. Then I found them. It was the series of pictures I took of a groom and his groomsmen smoking cigars around a fire! How could I forget such a fun moment? So glad I take pictures to help my memory. These groomsmen were a tight bond and life long friends. It was important to the groom to get a picture of him and his groomsmen gathered around the fire and smoking the cigars. After 8 hours of shooting, thats how long I used to go, the men finally had tme to "relax" and smoke around the fire. It was dark, pitch black outside with only the fire for a light. The men were rowdy, drunk and happy so staying still was not in their capabilities and hearing me over their own chatter was challenging. I went though a lot of images as the men pounded the cigars. We walked away with some sick dudes and a picture with all of them visible and smoking by the fire. It was a wedding win.
